Dr.-Ing. Erik Buchmann is head of the Young Investigator Group Privacy Awareness in Information Systems and its Implications on Society at the Institut für Programmstrukturen und Datenorganisation (IPD), Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.

Short CV

Erik Buchmann was born in Magdeburg, Germany in 1976. He received his Diploma (M.Sc.) in Business Informatics from the Otto-von-Guericke-University of Magdeburg, Germany in 2002. In 2006, he earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science (summa cum laude) from the same university. Since September 2006, Erik Buchmann is a research associate of the IPD, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. By 2007, he became head of the Young Investigator Group Privacy Awareness in Information Systems and its Implications on Society. His research interests include management and query processing of any kinds of imprecise, individual-related, large-volume data sets, e.g., from wireless sensor networks, location-based systems or ubiquitous computing. Erik Buchmann is particularly interested in interdisziplinary work.
